After two years in which professional wine fairs could not take place, the 2022 edition of Vinexpo is changing its formula.

First of all, the change of location of the event from the Bordeaux area to a Parisian hall greatly reduced the number of French exhibitors and even more international exhibitors.

In addition, moving this meeting between professionals to Paris will open up this annual event to the general public, especially since post-show entertainment will be greatly reduced.

In addition, the WineTech association, which mobilizes young entrepreneurs and micro-enterprises, has developed different types of services and packaging that reduce costs and store wines in a different way without losing quality.

Also, in response to expert advice, there has been a clear reduction in the use of metal caps for foreign wines. This awareness was applauded at Vinexpo and puts pressure on traditional producers to improve and change packaging.

On the other hand, studies and facts confirm the climate change that is taking place, as a result winemakers in various parts of the world have changed their ways of producing wines and distillates.

The use of hybrids improves certain varieties and makes it possible to fight against this climatic modification, its hybrids improve in particular the resistance to diseases and humidity which is becoming evident in the United States, Spain and France for example.

Indeed, winegrowers are increasingly concerned about these climate changes and the conversion to organic has been multiplied by 5 in several countries.

To conclude, Vinexpo has relaunched the opening of post covid shows, with a reduction in the number of exhibitors and visitors.

At the same time, new trends against climate change and crop protection and conservation technologies have emerged.

We'll see what happens to Europe's most important exhibition, Prowein 2022.
